A round table has no corners to catch a shin, which matters more than it sounds in a room people walk through in the dark.
It also softens a room full of straight lines. A long sofa, a rectangular rug and a square window all read calmer with one circle in the middle of them.
The Ridge is 39 inches across: big enough for books, a lamp and everyone's feet, small enough to walk round. Its fluted base is cut by hand, so the light catches it a little differently on every table.
