Ask what nearly stopped them buying, what they compared you with, and what made the difference in the end. Their words are often clearer than your own.<\/p>\n<h2>Find the difference that matters<\/h2>\n<p>List what makes you distinctive, then cross out anything a competitor could say just as truthfully. What remains, and what customers actually value, is the ground worth standing on.<\/p>\n<blockquote>Positioning is a promise you can keep, made to the people who need it most.<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Say it the same way everywhere<\/h2>\n<ul><li>Write one sentence that explains who you help and how.<\/li><li>Use it on your website, in proposals, and in introductions.<\/li><li>Give your team the words so they can repeat them.<\/li><li>Check every new piece of work against the same promise.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2>Revisit it as you grow<\/h2>\n<p>Your market will change, and so will your strongest work.
